LARIFIES FOR Q2/1997 RESULT

Thantawan Industry Plc clarified for Q2/1997 result compared with the same period a previous year as follows: 1.Total revenue depleted from the same period last year Bt16.94 m or 12.32% because government did not bring about any measure to ease trading barriers and boost exports. 2.The company cut Bt3.21 m or 2.66% of total revenues as bad debts. 3.THIP posted loss amounting Bt1.59 m or 1.32% of total revenues after amortising inventory finished products. 4.As The Customs Department, Department of Regional electricity Autority and Labour & Social Welfare Ministry ruled out patent cut and fee hike, other revenue reduced while expenses jumped high.
