CLARIFIES FOR 1997 RESULT

Thantawan Industry Plc notifies clarifications of performance as
follows:
1. The managed float of the baht caused:
1.1 income leaping by 14.75%
1.2 net profit growing 336.7%
2. Lower cost of goods sold was helped by austerity measure using as
much raw material at lome as possible to avoid risks from baht flutuation.
